When Whitney and Juan asked me to document their maternity journey at their horse ranch, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but as someone who loves a good prop (especially when it’s an animal), I was beyond excited to see what was in store.
When I drove up, to say my jaw hit the floor is the understatement of the century. I remember saying over and over to myself, “I am so freaking lucky”.
As an artist, one of the things you teach yourself almost immediately is to find beauty absolutely everywhere. Even in the darkness, when there’s no light. Especially then. But when you’re handed beauty on a silver platter, when nature is on your side and your clients are radiating and they’re immersed in their natural element - those are days of deep ease and gratitude.
Whitney and Juan, thank you so much for inviting me to your ranch, for sharing this passion with me, and for allowing me to document your journey. I can’t wait to meet that baby girl.
